Wifi In A Brothel? Great Idea!

Problem: Jetlagged, 11 pm, wide awake, and in need of an internet connection to do work, but the free internet at the hotel in the suburbs is 1996 slow, and the somewhat faster connection costs $70 per 24 hours. Internet cafes, coffee shops, and much of the transport system are closed so I need to find someplace that opens until 5-6am when the transit system reopens.

For most people, the sensible solution would be to simply find a nice hotel lobby downtown that has free wifi. Being a porn producer and requiring more privacy to work on adult content, another solution came to mind: the Cafe at Showpark - the famous Czech Brothel.

I'll tell you guys more about showpark in a later post, but it's not some dive or brownstone like you see in Amsterdam. Imagine showpark looking like a nightclub. In the center is the administration area and places to congregate. There are two wings consisting of 30 or so rooms each. These rooms are leased by the girls. Instead of pimping out girls, they just supply the location, rooms, and marketing. It's up to the girls how much they charge. They just have to pay for the lease.

Inside you'll find a mini casino, bar, and changing rooms. New this year is their Cafe area. On my first walk through, I was stunned. You're walking through hallways resembling a nightclub, only to walk into a very modern-looking, high-class, lounge/cafe. It must be their way of trying to get punters to spend more time here. In between fucking sessions, you can have a pick-me-up. It's also a great place to wait for girls to arrive/become available, and meet some who may walk by. It makes sense because the girls are not working for the company, and thus if they are spending an entire day working, they need a place to chill and relax too.

It was a no brainer for me: free wifi, refreshments, opened late, and the comfort of being able to work on porn material without having to worry or feel embarrassed if someone catches a look at my screen, like my experiences so far at other coffee shops and sandwich places.

The image you see above is a 3D rendering. When I visited, not all the furniture was in place, but it looked like the rendering. You know the company running the joint has serious money if they can afford such a amazing remodel AND 3D rendering of the modelling...for a brothel!
